Time To Dine at The Royal in Morecambe

I was looking forward to my recent visit to the royal bar and hotel on Morecambe promenade, as so many of my friends had been there and given me a big thumbs up about the food on offer at the local pub of the year. This family friendly seafront bar and restaurant is already renowned for its great bar, with fun, frivolity and live music, a place where it’s all about the craic. The bar offers a wide range of fine wines and cask ales and is very popular with a fantastic, relaxed casual dining menu.

On this occasion, I want to tell you about their elegant newly refurbished bar and restaurant upstairs, where you can enjoy an a la carte dining experience,  in very comfortable surroundings and spectacular bay views, yet with the relaxed feel and style that has made the Royal bar the place to go in Morecambe.

The new exciting menu has been created by renowned local chef Roy Curragh, who has put together some fabulous new dishes that are sure to tangle your taste buds.

The Food on Offer

How about trying a starter of Carpaccio of British beef fillet with mixed leaf and horseradish vinaigrette, or a wild mushroom and haggis broth, with a warm home baked ciabatta roll – a perfect winter warmer.

Main courses include, amongst many others,  a mouth-watering (and eye-popping) 10oz chargrilled rib eye steak, with tomato, mushrooms, onion rings, thick chips and a peppercorn sauce, certain to tame any appetite, no matter how hungry you are! Or, how about the chilli glazed fillet of Scottish salmon on lemon pepper rice and garnished with king prawns, simply delicious.

As you would expect, Roy maintains his ethos of only using the finest local produce, that supports local business and reduces their carbon footprint too. All the food is all freshly prepared and always at affordable prices, so not only will you be licking your lips after you have enjoyed your meal, but you will be able to have that extra bottle of wine too.

And, if you’ve still got room after all that, could you resist the homemade apple and blueberry crumble with lashings of fresh custard, or the sticky toffee pudding with cream, ice cream or custard!

There are always lots of daily specials, so no matter how many times you visit, there is always bound to be something that you haven’t tried.

The new restaurant at the royal bar is the perfect place to enjoy a midweek lunch and while away a few hours enjoying the views, or for that early evening dinner when you want to relax and be well fed and watered after a hard day at the office. Lunches are served between 12noon – 3pm and dinner from 5pm -8:30pm

Sunday afternoons are all about chilling out with a Sunday roast and with a choice of roast beef, roast pork and roast turkey with all the trimmings, for only £7.95, you won’t get better taste, or value for money than that. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment and are served between 12noon and 6:30pm.

The restaurant is also available to hire for private parties, funerals, weddings and much more and always keep your eye on their Facebook page for regular deals and special offers.
