The Honey Tree Restaurant Review

The Honey Tree has always been a firm favourite amongst locals in Morecambe, but with its prime, central sea-front location and ample parking nearby it's a great place to travel to, to enjoy top-notch Chinese food in a relaxed, traditional and friendly atmosphere.
Having already sampled the delights of the Honey Tree courtesy of their take-away and home delivery service, I was already completely sold on the wonderful food they consistently turn-out, but now having sampled their delightful range of authentic oriental cuisine in the comfort of their huge yet somehow still cosy restaurant, I can't wait to go back there again!
The Honey Tree was modernized only last year and is extremely comfortable and relaxing, with subtle pastel colours and contemporary wooden flooring.
It was a midweek night when my family visited the Honey Tree, and we weren't the only ones to have had that idea; several other tables were occupied, giving the evening a light, fun atmosphere. As usual, we were attended to quickly and efficiently by Mrs Ip and her professional team of helpful staff.
To start with we opted for the mixed Hors d'hoevres, which consisted of a selection of dim sum with dips; perfectly seasoned crispy seaweed, prawn toast, crispy wan-ton, spare ribs and spring rolls with an ample selection of vegetarian dishes for non meat eaters. Despite there being an overwhelming selection to open with, not a single morsel was left by the time the plates were cleared!
Our selection of main courses followed shortly after and before even a crumb had passed our lips, was declared to be a pure visual delight that looked almost too good to eat! However eat we did, and whilst it took us quite some time to munch our way through the vast array of dishes, each was polished-off with gusto. Amongst the fabulous selection of meals we enjoyed were a beautiful crispy duck, sizzling beef, Szechwan king prawns and steamed fish.
Accompanying the dishes were the traditional egg fried rice, boiled rice and noodles and an abundance of vegetable dishes. Everything was delicious!
Yet there was still more to come! Dessert was served and we opted for the sweet and very succulent banana fritters served in a light golden syrup, served with a delicious ice cream.
To round off this perfect evening we ordered a round of coffees and teas from their impressive and extensive selection, and opened our fortune cookies which was the perfect end to our night at the Honey Tree.
For us, this was enjoyable, sociable dining at it's best. For excellent quality, authentic Chinese food in a well-located spot, I'd recommend the Honey Tree, Morecambe every time.
